ASSEMBLY BILL SEEKS TO REFORM DRUG LAWS.(CAPITAL REGION)

Assembly Democrats introduced legislation Wednesday to reform the tough Rockefeller Drug Laws, calling for beefed-up substance abuse treatment programs.

Although the 80-page measure comes with just 12 days officially left in the session, Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry, D-East Elmhurst, said he hopes the drug laws can be considered in budget talks that may take place after the legislative calendar expires June 20.
